We study the latest orthodontic clinical articles and treat with scientifically based methods to achieve healthy and beautiful teeth with our patients.
Orthodontics for Children
It is very important to monitor the growth of the jaw from an early age to ensure that the teeth are aligned beautifully and the bite is correct. The most significant difference between orthodontic treatment for children and adults is the ability to take advantage of this growth.
The appropriate time for orthodontic treatment for children depends on each individual's teeth alignment and bite. We recommend a thorough examination at an early age in order to begin treatment at the most effective time for your child. Please contact us for a consultation.
It takes a long period of treatment to correct the alignment of the teeth and the bite. During this time, the entire staff will work together with the patient to achieve the goal of orthodontic treatment.
Before and after orthodontic treatment for children, we use a cephalogram, which is often only available at orthodontic clinics, to analyze the child's orthodontic condition. The cephalogram provides accurate information on the size and misalignment of the upper and lower jaws, the shape of the jaws, the inclination angle of the teeth, and the balance of the mouth.
- ● Determining the optimal timing of treatment
- ● Determining the best way to move teeth
- ● Accurate recording of jaw growth projections and treatment process
- ● Determination of the cause of bucktooth, arch, etc., etc.
The clinic also offers an examination using a lip examination force measuring device (Ripple-kun) for early improvement of tooth alignment, bite alignment, and malocclusion.
歯列矯正の現状
Approximately 75% of growing children develop malocclusion and undesirable facial features, primarily due to soft tissue dysfunction.
Some research reports indicate that incorrect muscle function habits known as mouth breathing, tongue habits, back swallowing, and finger sucking are the main causes of malocclusion.
These habits then interfere with the development of the child's cranial and facial features, resulting in orthodontic problems. Another cause of malocclusion is lip dysphonia, a condition in which the lips are open when at rest.
It is very important to acquire proper eating habits at an early age. Early improvement of teeth alignment, bite and malocclusion has been shown to improve children's healthy development, and to reduce mouth breathing, nasal obstruction, airway obstruction, snoring, and allergies, and also even prevent lifestyle-related diseases in the future.
Conventional braces with brackets can effectively align the teeth, but require long-term retention braces to maintain the alignment.
Treatment at our clinic
Therefore, we also offer a pre-straightening trainer (T4K Trainer) and a trainer orthodontic device (Myobrace) to improve muscle function habits to help align the teeth during the growth period.
● Pre-correction trainer (T4K trainer)
If left unchecked, myofunctional habits such as incorrect tongue position, mouth breathing, abnormal swallowing and tongue protrusion can interfere with proper facial development, correct jaw development, and normal dental development.
Oral muscle training is provided by a pre orthodontic trainer to improve the position of the teeth and jaw.
If approximately 6-12years old children who are the replacement phase that permanent teeth are erupting 4-5years old children with deciduous dentition wear the orthodontic appliance,it could promote thier correct development, so that their teeth are aligned better.
● トレーナー矯正装置(マイオブレイス)
Trainer orthodontic appliances train the tongue to be in the correct position and encourage correct swallowing and breathing. The correct tongue position and the "Dynamicore" effect of developing the maxillary arch and creating space for the tongue improve arch shape and dentition.
Goals of Treatment
- 1.Establishment of nasal breathing
- 2.Improvement of perioral muscle function
- 3.Improved arch form and dentition
Nasal breathing and normal function of the perioral muscles will lead to better facial development and healthy growth of the child during the growth period.
About Adult Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment is basically available to anyone with healthy teeth and periodontal tissue that supports the teeth.
Adults who voluntarily desire orthodontic treatment with the goal of a beautiful mouth can pay more attention to brushing their teeth and caring for their orthodontic appliances, and orthodontic treatment often progresses efficiently with good oral health. Please do not give up because of your age.
Partial orthodontic treatment (limited prthodontic treatment LOT)
Partial orthodontics is a method of orthodontic treatment in which appliances are fitted to only a few teeth, rather than to the entire upper and lower dentition.
Only a portion of the front or back teeth can be corrected, and the cost and time period can be much less than for overall orthodontic treatment.
Partial orthodontic treatment is often referred to as minor tooth movement (MTM), but the knowledge and skills required for treatment are the same as those for orthodontic treatment that moves the entire tooth. Therefore, partial orthodontic treatment is not the same as full orthodontic treatment.
● Partial orthodontics as a pre-prosthetic treatment
Orthodontic treatment is performed when teeth were originally well aligned but have become misaligned due to tooth decay, periodontal disease, or accidental tooth loss, in order to return teeth that have moved to the correct position, improve periodontal disease, or make a headpiece last longer.
● Petit orthodontics (correction of front teeth only)
Petit orthodontic treatment refers to orthodontic treatment of only the front teeth, which can be completed in a short period of time.
In the conventional full-arch orthodontic treatment, wires are passed through all teeth to correct the alignment of teeth from the bite, but in petit orthodontic treatment, only the front teeth of concern are treated. In petit braces, however, only the front teeth that are of concern are treated.
Compared to full-jaw orthodontic treatment, which requires a treatment period of a year, the treatment often takes only about 6 to 9 months, and the cost is naturally lower.
Advantages of Petit Orthodontic Treatment
1.low price
2.short time
3.Less pain.
However, there are cases in which petit orthodontics may not be suitable depending on the bite and the condition of the teeth and jaws.
A thorough examination is required to determine if petit orthodontic treatment is indicated.
